CICAS is looking for researchers with backgrounds in bio-medical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, and surgery who are interested in investigating applications of image navigation using virtual reality and/or robotics. Research projects are interdisciplinary, often involving principles of computer graphics, medical imaging, and robotics, with an emphasis on image-guided surgery.

Applicants at the doctorate level will be given highest priority and must have a very strong background in OpenGL, C++, and Windows GUI design. Applicants with knowledge of medical image processing, computer vision, ultrasonic image manipulation, mechanical design, and virtual system hardware interfaces will also be considered. A principle requirement is demonstrated excellence in research.

Successful candidates are given an opportunity to work directly on high-power computational machinery and workstations with various robotics and optical tracking interfaces.
